Maternity Leave Coaching empowers women as they transition into motherhood while balancing the demands of their career.

Specifically, Maternity Leave Coaching helps guide women through the unique challenges associated with taking time off work to welcome a new child into their family.

Our Coach, Claire Holmes, is a RETAIN Certified Parental Leave Coach through the Center for Parental Leave Leadership. Through this structured, evidence-based and holistic form of coaching, expecting moms (and their managers!) are supported through the three phases of Parental Leave (Before, During & After) to ensure a successful, engaged and sustainable return to work while thriving at home.

Phase One

Preparing For Leave

In Phase One, we kick off our work together focused on building a custom Maternity Leave Plan (including your Return To Work Plan).

Phase Two

During Your Leave

In Phase Two, your Coach will serve as a sounding board and resource during your postpartum period and then begin preparing you for your transition back to work.

    ▶ Preparing – mentally, emotionally and physically – for your return to work

Returning From Leave

Phase Three

In Phase Three, your Coach will support you during the first several months back at work to help you troubleshoot any issues, personal or professional.

    ▶ Setting clear, healthy boundaries and expectations, both at home and at work

    Guiding you to prepare for your Maternity Leave by creating a plan for your time off, managing your workload, delegating tasks, and ensuring a smooth handover to colleagues while you are out. We will also cover how to prepare for a seamless transition back to work after baby.

    Moving past that feeling of overwhelm and potential burnout by learning proven techniques for focusing your time, energy and emotions on the right things.

  • Career Development

    Exploring your career goals and aspirations while on maternity leave, which may involve discussing options for returning to work, discussing flexible work arrangements, or identifying new opportunities that align with your changing priorities and responsibilities.

  • Self-Care & Well-Being

    Prioritizing the need for self-care during this significant life transition, including discussions related to your expectations, fears, and concerns, as well as how to maintain physical and mental well-being, manage sleep patterns, practice self-compassion, and prioritize your personal needs.

    Clearly defining and communicating your expectations, needs and boundaries as a working mom that you have established for yourself (and your family), including how to have meaningful conversations with supervisors and team members.

    Cultivating a strong support system of people who can offer assistance, understanding, and encouragement during the challenges of balancing work and motherhood, and actively seeking out and nurturing those relationships to help promote your well-being and success in both your personal and professional life.

There are two options to help ease the financial burden of the investment for this Coaching Program.

  • Most employers don’t know that programs like this exist – that aim to support the working parent in taking a leave from work that’s successful for everyone involved (companies, included!). I would be happy to help you pitch this program to your company to request full or partial funding. It would be a great way to start the conversation with them about if you’d like your manager involved as well.

  • For full-priced programs, we are happy to offer a payment plan where you can pay in three installments; one for each phase of our coaching program.
